Hayes Family Photos

All 8 grand kids together at once. Plenty (or so we thought) of able bodied adults. A nice camera. What could go wrong? EVERYTHING! These may look like outtakes, but they are in fact the best shots we got. Too many little to keep track of and a camera that went on the fritz minutes before the start of the shoot. We figured out the problem just as they all started to melt down. Oh well, better luck next year ;).

Thayer is 9 months

Morning park time in our PJ's

My sweet boy has grown up so fast. I really don't know how where my baby went. He started crawling like a pro right after he turned 8 mo. He's now pulling himself up on everything and trying to get into everything. Of course his favorite things are electrical cords and outlets, sharp objects, and hard surfaces. We have a doozy couple of months ahead of us as his crawling goes to walking and so on. He is such a happy boy and I feel so lucky to be his momma. That wide smile and those blue eyes make me melt.

Philly Adventure Part 3

Our final weekend was spent at the Jersey Shore. It was fantastic. The beach was beautiful and the water was warm. If you ask Henry, this was his favorite day of the trip. Mini golf, beach time, and amusement park rides. Next time we go to Philly I think we will try to spend a weekend here.

After spending the whole day in the sun, we spent the following day inside, at the Franklin Institute. We didn't capture as many great pictures, but this place is like OMSI, but better. There is a full sized plane and train. Pretty much every boys dream.

Philly Adventure Part 2

Can you tell who took a nap?

We spent our second weekend on the Delaware River. It separates Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Henry really wanted to go on a boat. We found swan paddle boats and went out as a family.

The next day we headed back to the river to ride the ferry that connects the 2 states. We found a fun Irish festival on the water while we waited for the ferry.

Philly Adventure Part 1

Daddy sold his business! Well, almost. He's working on it. In order to get the ball rolling, the Woodruff family went on an adventure to downtown Philadelphia, for almost a month.

Living downtown meant lots of eating out. Luckily the food was pretty good and so was the weather.

We found an awesome park about a 1/4 mile away from our apartment. We played there almost daily.

Our first weekend in Philly was memorial day weekend, so we had 3 full days with Daddy. We were able to accomplish a lot, starting with the liberty bell (its behind a window, so look through the reflection).

Then we went to Franklin Square (one of the many beautiful parks in downtown Philly). There was a carousel and a playground where Henry made some fast friends.

Our next stop was the Smith playground. It is a massive mansion, on a couple acre lot, all for kids. The mansion is a 3 story playhouse, and the outdoor area is a state of the art, modern playground. It even has a giant hardwood slide. Literally the COOLEST playground ever.

To dodge the heat for a day, we spent a day in the National Museum of History. The dinosaur bones were definitely the highlight.

Our final day with Dad was spent at the oldest zoo in America. It was pretty fun and within running distance. We only rode in a car 1 day our whole trip. Everything else was in a 3 mile radius of our apartment, so we made it there on foot.
